Cross House Blessing:
The blessing of places of protection, production and fertility, such as a home, a garden, farm or place of business, has a long history in Mexican and Latin American countries. These crosses are given as a traditional blessing and sign of continued protection.
They are sometimes nailed into a tree, the side of an outdoor building or garden wall, as well as placed inside a new home or new place of business.

About Jan Barboglio:
Jan Barboglio designs and creates decorative and sculptural iron accessories
inspired by historic
Mexico.
Each piece is hand worked. It is
individually cast or wrought, hammered, sanded and hand finished. Slight
irregularities, imperfections, and variations of shading and texture are
characteristic of the material and the
Old World
finishing process that adds to its distinct beauty. Each piece is artistically
embossed with her signature stamp, slightly different, and equally unique.
